Dragons 7’s and Touch Carnival 2010

A day of rugby for primary school boys and girls

Sunnybank Community and Sports Club along with Fuji Xerox are sponsoring another Carnival day for Primary school students in term 3. Each school will be able to enter 2 boys teams for 7’s of up to 12 players and two girls teams for Touch of up to 12 players. We are working towards making 16 team competitions, 4 pools of 4.

• The proposed date to hold this carnival is the 20th of August.

• We are hoping to supply each player with memorabilia from the day in the form of a water bottle.

• Thanks to the Sunnybank BBQ trailer we will be able to supply a sausage sizzle lunch with a drink.

• There will be a $50 entrance fee for each school, however this will be offset by a $100 thanks for coming cheque for schools that participate.

• Ambassadors / coaches, will be supplied to schools who do not have staff that can coach 7’s.

• Bus transport to the carnival will be subsidised.

• The day will run from 9.30 am to 2.30pm with round robin games in the morning, a lunch break followed by finals in the afternoon.

• 2 rugby fields at the Logan Metro Sports grounds will be used for Rugby 7’s with the adjoining soccer fields being utilised for the girls touch games. Each field will be split to make 4 playing areas.
