Sunnybank Rugby Union recognises the significant role volunteers offer within the organisation. Recruiting and retaining dedicated volunteers is a critical task for the club’s success. Sunnybank is committed to provide all our volunteers with a safe and memorable experience at the club.


Sunnybank’s Volunteer policy has been designed and actioned to provide a clear knowledge and understanding of the polices & procedures in relation to recruitment, retention, and recognition of volunteers within the rugby club.

What defines a volunteer?

Volunteers are representatives from the community who freely choose to give up their time and skills to support club activities for no payment other than reimbursement for out of pocket expenses. Volunteers come from all age groups, educational backgrounds and genders. Almost everyone can be looked upon as a potential volunteer to the club.

Why do people volunteer?

It is important to understand why people volunteer so the club can provide satisfying and rewarding opportunities to them. It will also help recruit more volunteers in the future when the need comes. Overall this will encourage all volunteers to fulfil their roles within the club’s needs. reasons people will generally volunteer for are;
